Celebrate good times, come on!

The Crochet Crowd just turned over 20 million video views old. This is an amazing milestone for me, especially when it was done through teaching simple crochet techniques. It all starts with Learning To Crochet and the rest is up to the viewer to push themselves through other various tutorials to keep on learning.

My biggest lesson is to play nice with others in the sandbox. Amazing sharing websites such as AllFreeCrochet and AllFreeCrochetAfghanPatterns have been wonderful. You can learn through these websites through patterns shared by celebrity crafters and regular people just like you and I. There's something for everyone.

I love waking up each day and taking a look at our Facebook fan page. Overnight, people have shared their projects and posted pictures. Lately, the Crowd has been posting a lot of afghans. Here's 13 Patterns for Afghans to inspire you further.

Our fans seem to be on the leading edge of a new trend with doing Owl Hats for kids. Fans appear to be making up these designs in their heads using amazing yarn colours and looks. I found some hat patterns that can be the foundation for these types of hats. Ask our fans on Facebook how they did the eyes.

Long Lost Tutorials

Extreme crochet is using multiple strands of yarn at one time with a big massive hook. One of my afghans I did had 75 balls of Bernat Softee Chunky; I used 5 strings at one time. It was massive. Each row was nearly 3” tall.

1.    Extreme Granny Square
2.    Extreme Super Stars

Baby Pom Pom Yarn – Candy Floss

I can't help but notice how many people have been inspired by Bernat's new Baby Pom Pom Yarn. I've seen the finished samples that have been portrayed in the brochures and they are just as soft and amazing as they look in the photographs. The link has more details about this yarn in reference to recommendations of crochet hook and knitting needle sizes.
