Hey There My Fellow Crafters,

I just came out of the closet with an arm full of sweaters. Yep, the cool nip is definitely in the air. This means that Creativ Festival is again here and The Crochet Crowd goes live once again. I have 5 pairs of free admission tickets lined up in an exclusive giveaway for 5 lucky winners. Enter to win.

I find crochet difficult to teach in person on a show floor. Many people of different skill levels are at the table and it can be quite the hay day. That's why the online world of teaching appeals to me so much. In September we welcomed two more guest hosts on the AllFreeCrochet YouTube Channel. It's great to be diverse as each teaching host has a different teaching personality and creative interest.

Lately, the mail has been filled with frustrated women trying to understand patterns. One lady commented she didn't know what SC was. If you are ever uncertain, here's a Crochet Abbreviation Breakdown that you can bookmark. Now let's explore some trendy crochet patterns.

Long Lost Tutorials

Firstly, basket weaving is a technique that seems to be growing in trend in the crochet world. It’s because it looks so amazing as a finished project.  Secondly, have you had problems with your sewing machine? I did, so I filmed a solution. Interestingly enough, see what people are saying in the comments.

Video of the Week

It's Like Painting With Yarn

My six sided star Christmas Tree Skirt is a tutorial in the making. I used Bernat's Mosaic Yarn and it really is a celebration of color. I used 3 different types of colors within the same yarn line. I got all my materials listed so you can get a jump start this Christmas.

Mikey's Review

Twisted Scarf Crochet Pattern

Yeppers, I did this Twisted Scarf Pattern with my live crochet class last year. It's much easier than it looks, therefore, it will make you look like the queen of the crochet hook. I caution you on substituting the yarn selection; I chose a yarn that was a number 4 in weight and it doesn't look as nice.
